This is a time of unprecedented circumstances in the Four State area as witnessed by the City of Carthage.
The Carthage City Council passed an ordinance giving the police the power to enforce the Governor’s Stay-At-Home order.
In the event an officer receives a complaint, the ordinance would then allow them to fine people caught having gatherings of more than 10 people.
If people are caught violating the order, they could receive a fine up to $500 dollars and could also face a Class A misdemeanor.

The Dept says there is a hotline set up to answer any questions.
